Northeast Regional Students’ Conference for a Global
Conscience

SAVE THE DATE:
April 2 –- 4, 2004
Cornell University, Ithaca, New York

Speakers and workshops for students interested in the
implications of globalization.   The weekend will be
an opportunity to educate people on different aspects
of the globalization debate: environmentalism, fair
trade, human rights, economics and more.  We plan to
offer addresses from distinguished leaders in the
field, as well as hold workshops throughout the
weekend.

Speakers include:

Tom Hayden, Co-Founder of Students for a Democratic
Society and Drafter 
of the "Port Huron Statement"
Michael Parenti, Author of The Assassination of Julius
Caesar and The Sword and the Dollar
Laurie Wallach, Public Citizens Global Trade Watch
Njoki Njoroge Njehû, Director of 50 Years is Enough
Stewart Acuff, Organizing Director the AFL-CIO
Anna Lappe, Author of Hope's Edge
Representatives from OXFAM
Lost Film Festival
The Ruckus Society
Student Action with Farmworkers

and

many more....

We are organizing a Northeast Student Activist
Network.  If you would like to participate in either
planning the conference or organizing students to
attend the conference please email:

We will look at the possibilities to form a regional
pan-organization that can coordinate and maintain a
network between all the schools of the Northeast.  We
are including NY, NJ, PA, CT, VT, NH, MA, ME, and 
RI.
