EFF Announces Lawsuit Against Electronic Voting Machine Company

How E-Voting in Australia Has Worked So Well
Instead of developing voting software in secret, the Australian company made the software open source and therefore exposed the inner workings for everybody to scrutinize. Their system also allows for people to retain an anonymous receipt of their vote. If there was a question as to the legitimacy of a vote, that receipt could be used to verify if a vote was counted correctly.
