From manski at greens.org Tue Apr 10 14:41:18 2007 From: manski at greens.org (Ben Manski) Date: Tue, 10 Apr 2007 13:41:18 -0500 Subject: [Corporations] Sweatshop sit-in underway at USC - calls needed! Message-ID: <461BDA4E.9050308@greens.org> Hey everyone, 15 students at the University of Southern California have just entered their presidents office and are sitting in to demand that USC adopt the Designated Suppliers Program and affiliate with the Workers Rights Consortium. This would result mean that only factories with democratic unions could make USC apparel. Students at USC are asking that people call in to their President right now to demand that USC adopt these policies. Here is a phone number and script. Also, if you can forward this around and get everyone you know to participate that would be great. President Sample (213) 740-2111 Hello, my name is ___________ and I am a ______________ at ____________. It is hard to believe that even though students have been bringing the issue of USC's dependence on sweatshops to your attention for the last eight years, USC has still not made a real commitment to workers' rights. 8 years is far too long.
